FAQ
Can you help me with my Hague Convention service?
Absolutely. The majority of our practice is international service of process and we have extensive experience with effecting service under the Hague convention
How long does it take to effect service under the Hague Convention?
Every country handles Hague requests differently. Some countries process the requests and return them in 2 months while others take 6 months or more.
What if I do not want foreign country enforcement of the judgment, is there another way to serve my defendant?
Yes. This is very common in dissolution matters where one party seeks adjudication of status only. By effecting “informal service” in compliance with the forum jurisdictions rules you can obtain your judgment in the home court. However, you should be absolutely positive that you will never desire to enforce the resulting award in the foreign country before relying upon informal service.
Do you provide translation services for the Hague Request package?
Yes. As part of our effort to provide our clients the highest level of service we offer a translation service at competitive rates.
What is your turn around time for Hague Requests?
Once we receive the necessary papers from you we send your completed Hague Request out via FEDEX to the appropriate central authority within 1 business day (excluding necessary translation time should the package need to be translated.)
